We are really excited for our upcoming October breakfast seminar with guest speakers, the founding directors of Paper. Whilst planning this event, it got us thinking back to the successful breakfast seminar we ran in March, led by guest speaker and President of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce, Steve Manley.
After the event myself and the rest of the SFBL committee met up to debrief. We all agreed Steve’s speech had left us feeling motivated and ready to tackle problems head on. We took confidence in hearing that even successful people have made decisions that haven’t quite worked out. Like Steve, every successful person will tell you that they have learnt from these decisions, and grown as a result.
Steve’s theme of young enterprise fits in well with our ethos here at Sheffield Future Business Leaders. His talk really helped us appreciate the various obstacles we may face during our careers, regardless of the sector we work in.
After discussing this, and the very positive feedback we received from our members, we decided that we wanted to host more events of this nature.
What’s next?
We are looking forward to hosting our October event, with guest speakers from Paper discussing business start-ups and the challenges they often face, particularly in the digital sector. We hope it will be another great success for all of our members, regardless of their vocation.
